PUBLIC NOTICE: April 21st Council Meeting
The Chimney Rock Village regular monthly Planning Board will meet at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, April 21 at the Chimney Rock Volunteer Fire Department - Community Meeting Room.
The Chimney Rock Village Council will have its regularly scheduled Council Meeting at 5:30 pm, Tuesday, April 21 at the Chimney Rock Volunteer Fire Department - Community Meeting Room.

​Council Seats Up for Election
Chimney Rock Village has two Council seats up for election this November 3, 2026. The seats for April Schick and Bruce Godzik expire because it is the end of their four year term. Candidates must be permanent residents living within the municipal limits of Chimney Rock Village. Council serves as the policy making body for the Village and selects one of its members to serve as Mayor. Five Council members serve staggered terms.
The Rutherford County Board of Elections will administer Chimney Rock Village's Municipal Elections and the Candidate Filing Period begins at Noon, July 6, 2026 and ends at Noon, July 17, 2026. Filing Fee is $10.00.

RFQ: Chimney Rock Village Water and Sewer System Operations
Village Rock Village is requesting proposals to provide operation, reporting, billing, and maintenance of the water and sewer systems. Firms shall be licensed for water treatment (well) and distribution, wastewater collection and treatment, and be familiar with all required monitoring and reporting requirements through NCDEQ Water Resources. Additionally, all firms shall have demonstrable experience with municipal utility systems and shall submit references upon request.
Interested firms should submit a written proposal to Stephen G Duncan at Chimney Rock Village by Friday, May 15, 2026 no later than 2:00 pm. Full RFQ Document and Supporting Documents. RFQ: Chimney Rock Village Request for Qualifications (RFQ) Engineering Design, Permitting, Bid Assistance, Construction Administration, Funding Assistance Services
The Village is requesting responses to this Request for Qualifications (RFQ) seeking qualified applicants who can provide engineering design, permitting assistance, bidding services, contract administration services, and assistance with grant administration for the implementation of the three listed projects.

The projects must be administered in compliance with all State statutes and any applicable Federal regulations. Payment terms will be negotiated with the selected firm. Meetings are generally the third Tuesday following the first Monday of the month. They are open to the public and citizens may sign up to speak or simply show up. The form of Government in Chimney Rock Village is Mayor-Council. Its corporate name is Chimney Rock Village. The name of the governing board is called Council Members. There are five members. The Mayor is a Council member chosen by the board at the organizational meeting after each election.Governing board members serve four-year staggered terms. The board members are elected at large. Elections are non-partisan, and the results are determined by plurality, with the person or persons receiving the highest number of votes elected to the open seat(s).The Village Council elects one of the Council members to serve as the Mayor, and the Mayor serves at the pleasure of the Village Council. There is no term of office for the Mayor. The mayor is a regular voting member of the Council and votes on all matters.The form of administration used in the village is through an administrator and staff who report to the Mayor and Council. ​
